Most mums find it difficult enough maintaining a work-life balance, without trying to incorporate a daily exercise routine. The benefits of doing so, however, are huge. Regular exercise helps with stress relief and releases endorphins (feel good chemicals) in your body making you feel great and more likely to be a happy mum!
Here is what some the mums at CrossFit Leyland had to say;
“Since joining CrossFit over a year ago, I can’t believe the change… a toned body and I feel much more confident.”
“It is not easy juggling a young family, work and finding time to train, but without it I would go insane!”
“Morning workouts are better for me after the school run. CrossFit gives me the opportunity to work hard and de-stress, with fab trainers and a great team.”
“I have made some great friends and I am learning how to live a healthier life style. There is always room for improvement and I still have plenty of goals to achieve!”
Fiona Staley-Jackson, CrossFit Leyland Member
“I had my little boy Thomas just over 2 years ago now. Before I had him I was a keen hockey player and CrossFitter and attended the gym around 3/4 times a week. Although I had to stop hockey training whilst pregnant, I was able to continue to train at CrossFit Leyland. I was actually training on the Monday before Thomas arrived just a few days later on the Thursday.
“Once we were home I remember I was so keen to get back into training but I was just so tired. I am sure all mums can relate, what a shock to the system that was!! Anyhow, 10 weeks later I picked myself up and was back at the gym, Thomas in tow in the buggy whilst I worked out. It was amazing to be back at the gym and start to feel like the old me again.”
“That one hour every other day became one of my favourite times of the week and it is ok to admit that!!”
“It allowed me for that time to focus on what I wanted, which was to be fit again, strong and of course get my body back to how it once was, or better. Everyone’s goal is different, whether its weight loss, to get stronger, fitter or to simply meet some new friends (other mums who are no doubt feeling the same as you).
“Being a mum is hard, everything all of a sudden is about the baby and you don’t seem to have any time to look after yourself. That’s why that one hour a day a few times a week is so beneficial, it is time for you, for that one hour it is ALL about you!”
“I am happy to say through training at CrossFit Leyland, I am now fitter, stronger and leaner than I was before I had Thomas and I enjoyed every minute of it and still do.”
“Having started as a member, I am now a CrossFit Trainer and coach at CrossFit Leyland. I decided that other mums should be introduced to CrossFit so that they too can experience the same joy and results as I did!”
