How long have you been doing CrossFit for?

5 years

What made you start CrossFit?

I stopped playing semi-professional football and I missed the enjoyment, intensity, competitiveness and strong community feeling that a strong group of individuals brought. Training alone in gyms didn’t cut it and so I started CrossFit.

What does CrossFit mean to you?

The quote that probably summarises it all for me is a popular one by Pat Sherwood…

“The goal is to get fit, make it the best hour of your day, stay safe, turn up the music, high five some people and blow off some steam. So remember that. Relax, have fun and work out”

How long have you been coaching at CrossFit Leyland?

4 months, although I have done some workshops in the past.

What is your favourite class to teach?

It is hard to answer with being relatively new but the rowing workshop I did was amazing. CrossFit Leyland members are so keen to learn and listen and that is all you can ask for as a coach.

If you had to sum CrossFit up in 3 words what would they be?

C’mon this is hard… Greg Glassman, CrossFit Founder defined it in 100 words. Go and look it up guys it pretty much says it all.

What would your advice be to our members in terms of their training?

The last part of the quote above “having fun and relax”. Also don’t be afraid to have recovery and rest days. Get out of the gym and use your fitness. Take your time, there are lots of new skills to learn, don’t try to master them all in a few months.
