Meet The Girls: Part 2

1) How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I came to my first CrossFit Lite class on Tuesday 31st March and did my Foundation Course on 10th April. I then became a Member in May this year.

2) Did you have any apprehensions prior to starting CrossFit?
Yes! I had several concerns……was I too old and not fit enough? I was scared of some of the general reviews and totally freaked by the film clips of rope climbing and handstand press ups. I thought it was really hard-core and maybe not for me. I was reassured by Gina although still worried initially.

3) Has your attitude changed since starting CrossFit?

YES!!! Thanks to the reassurance and support of all the amazing coaches and encouragement of other members I have totally embraced CrossFit and I am seeing the most amazing benefits. My fitness has improved immensely and my body continues to tone up. My confidence and self-belief has soared! I came to CrossFit after a particularly difficult period in my life and my self-confidence and self-esteem had taken a hit. I now believe I can do things I had never thought possible and have the courage to give things a go, work hard and give it my all!

4) How would you describe CrossFit Leyland?

It is more than just a gym. It is a warm and welcoming community, made up of a diverse group of people who bring out not only the best in themselves but the best in others. The support and encouragement of the coaches is immense too.

5) What would you say to anyone who is thinking about giving CrossFit a go?

Do it and you will gain so much…..both physical and mental wellbeing. The benefits are enormous and so is the fun. You work hard and push yourself but it is rewarding and enjoyable. I love it!
